We sat there. Clenched knuckles and gritted teeth. Knocked out baby ones in bags under our respective pillows. Bunny band-aids and messed up braids that were pulled out of their pretty designs. We sat there. After being told to apologize for acting so unladylike. But we only stared. I don't think we ever apologized. Not even to this day.
