The literary and arts magazine of Hopkins School

Who We Are

Daystar is Hopkins School's literary and arts magazine, a century-long tradition of celebrating and publishing students' work. We are a student club and a student-run publication, producing a chapbook in the winter and a full-sized magazine in the late spring. On a normal year, you can find Daystar hosting various campus-wide events like the fall festival, coffee houses, and a spring arts festival on the Quad, but even in abnormal circumstances, Daystar finds a way to prevail.

We accept submissions of visual art, poetry, prose, and non-fiction throughout the year, but if you have a piece of audio or 3D art or some other genre-bending work, let us know, and we will find a way to publish it.  Notifications about deadlines for each publication will be shared with the whole school, and all Hopkins students are encouraged to submit work, attend a meeting, or participate in any Daystar events.
