Uncurtained
Mr. May
Curtainless Georgian windows
facing East atop hill,
over ivy company town,
glaze shadeless students
in blazing glare,
drape them
in day’s drag.
Nevertheless,
they drowse.
Work waits.
Capitulate
to caprice.
Unfurl,
illuminate
your aspirations:
crepuscular rays,
a desperate expression—
a liminal cry, before
unblinking Georgian eye.
