Bedtime Thoughts

Ruby Meyers '26
Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite.
Don’t stay up too late, you will need your rest.
Sweet dreams, tomorrow morning will be bright

and early, you will go to start the fight.
It’s not your job to always be the best.
Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite

your chance to fix your past, your priceless right
that you received on your dear mother’s breast.
Sweet dreams, tomorrow morning should be bright.

The shining sun will wake its fellow light
and again the moon will shine on you, oppressed.
Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite

that tool you use to shoot at wrongs, to write
the stories, that’s what always makes you stressed.
Sweet dreams, tomorrow morning won’t be bright

Unless they realize sometime soon, tonight,
what they must echo every night, expressed
Good night, sleep tight, don’t let the bedbugs bite,
Sweet dreams, let’s hope tomorrow will be bright.
