Most Suspenseful:
“Untitled” by Ravi Camenga ‘28

A voice eerily chides me, “Fate, fate awaits,” and I feel myself, suddenly awake, walking through a foggy grove to the rhythm of the brittle leaves that rustle to the nighttime wind. A hastily constructed box, 6 feet by 2 feet, sits at the end of my path, urging me, tempting me, summoning me. I open it—-- with sweat dripping from my nose, my wet nightgown clinging to my ghastly skin, and I see myself.

Most Original:
“The Monster Within” by Roselyn Shen ‘27

There is no blood when it attacks. There is no death when it attacks. There is only the pain of having a hole where your soul is, and a void where your mind is, when it attacks.

 Silliest:
“Scary Pumpkin” by Rohan Gottumukkala ‘25

‘Twas the night of Halloween when I saw it. A lone pumpkin sitting on a porch. To my horror, it wasn’t a normal pumpkin, but a scary pumpkin.
